Airthrey Care Home Hosts Summer Fete for Community

Local people are being invited to a summer fete at a care home in Airthrey.

Owned by Meallmore, Airthrey Care Home – which offers personalised nursing care for older people – is inviting members of the local community to a fun filled event with an assortment of activities.

The entertainment on offer will appeal to visitors of all ages, with a DJ and BBQ accompanying proceedings. There will be plenty of activities for kids with stalls, face painting, messy play areas, home baking, ice cream and balloon makers.

In addition, there will be a fundraising raffle to help support outings and activities for the residents. Previously, raffle funds have raised money to purchase a trishaw for the home, which has enabled residents at Airthrey to enjoy the local area by bike and benefit from fresh air.

Rebecca McLaughlin, care home manager, commented, “The fete is a wonderful opportunity for everyone to come together and get into the summer spirit of things with plenty of activities for people of all ages. We’re all counting the days until the Fete and the money raised will be hugely appreciated by our residents.”

Rebecca added: “if anyone wants to get involved, or donate a prize towards the raffle, please don’t hesitate to get in touch – any contributions are hugely appreciated”.

Local companies are being invited to gift donations for the raffle and will be credited at the event. For more details, contact the care home.
