THE OAKS WINS AT SCOTTISH CARE AWARDS 2019

The Oaks has been recognised as a leading Scottish care home at a prestigious awards ceremony celebrating the best of the independent care home sector in Scotland.

The team won the Specialist Service/Unit of the Year category at the Scottish Care Awards 2019. This award celebrates a service, or unit within a service, that can reflect the specific skills needed to deliver high quality support sensitive to the needs of older people with dementia, other specialist conditions or client groups.

Located in Baillieston, the Oaks provides specialist care services for adults aged 18 to 65 living with a wide range of mental health conditions.

The team collected their award at an Awards Ceremony, hosted by Michelle McManus, on 15 November at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow.

Julie Stevenson, Manager of the Oaks, said:

“We’re amazed to win this award, which is thanks to our team and the residents who all help to make the Oaks a great place to live and to work. To be honoured for their hard work really is the icing on the cake.”

The awards have been hailed a huge success in recognising individuals, teams and companies, with more entries than ever flooding in each year from employers, care home staff, residents and relatives nominating their peers, colleagues and local services. Over 700 people attended the 2019 awards.
