A home from home at Auchmacoy Lodge

We strive for excellence in all of our care homes, supporting and encouraging our team to be knowledgeable and to help residents to be as independent, healthy and happy as possible.

When Aberdeen Health and Social Care Partnership decided to close Auchmacoy GP Unit at our care home in Ellon last summer we were extremely disappointed. Determined to retain our talented staff we invested in refurbishing the unit, Auchmacoy Lodge was opened in August 2019 creating a new care home suite for older people.

To celebrate our first 6 months, we wanted to see how our new residents have settled in. We are extremely proud to have received positive comments praising the home and the care we provide.

Comfort, safety and happiness are among our top priorities for residents. Our very first resident, Bunty Gall is happy to be living at Auchmacoy Lodge, and she says: “I feel so safe and secure living here and the staff are so friendly and helpful.  Anything you ask them to do they do so willingly.”

We were touched to learn that we have created a welcoming home from home for people, and for family members, we hope this reassures them that loved ones are well cared for and comfortable.

Bobby Watson, also a resident at the home says: “I am so happy to be living here there are always friendly staff to spend time with and have a chat.  I feel so relaxed and safe staying here. My family and friends are always made to feel welcome.”

At Auchmacoy Lodge residents also benefit from being part of our wider care home community. We offer an extensive range of activities and events for people to maintain hobbies, try something new and socialise with other people.

With our chefs constantly creating new, fresh meal ideas and snacks as part of our nutritious menu planning, there’s always lots of variety on offer. Our head chef will be pleased to hear that Bunty says: “The meals are really good, there is so much variety and it is presented to restaurant standard.”

Whatever the level or type of care and support individuals need, we always aim to provide the same dedication, passion and commitment. It is a pleasure to look after the exceptional people we serve and to receive such positive comments that recognise the hard work of our team and earns Auchmacoy Lodge its good reputation.
