Meet Carol-Anne Foote, Commissioning and Business Development Manager

We’re delighted to announce that we’ve promoted Carol-Anne Foote to the newly created role of Commissioning and Business Development Manager, which sits within the operations team. As a leading care home operator, Carol-Anne will strengthen our commitment to providing the highest levels of quality care in each of our care homes across Scotland.

Carol-Anne, who has been with Meallmore since 2005, has spoken about her new role. Read on to find out more.

Congratulations on the new role. Please can you tell us a bit about it?

In my new role I am committed to upholding Meallmore’s reputation for being both a great place to live and a great place to work. I will also ensure Meallmore’s quality care standards meet and exceed those laid out by the Care Inspectorate in our existing care homes.

Part of my new role will be looking at developments of new care homes across Scotland and to develop the company’s portfolio of facilities providing person-centred care and support. This means we can expand the offering of high quality care to people across Scotland. First on my list is the launch of the stunning Greenan Manor in Ayr this winter!

Tell us a brief bit about yourself and your career to date

I started my career as a registered mental health nurse and have over 20 years’ experience in the private care sector. I have an SVQ in Management and so I joined Meallmore in 2005 as care home manager for Forthland Lodge in Edinburgh, before becoming area manager for the central east region of Scotland in 2008.

I was also lucky to be offered the opportunity to complete my Master’s degree in MBS in Innovation & Leadership at Letterkenny Institute of Technology in Donegal, Ireland which I thoroughly enjoyed.

What are you most looking forward to about your new role?

I’m working hard in overseeing Meallmore’s newest care home, Greenan Manor in Ayr, to get ready for opening this winter. Our care home in Ayr will provide quality, personalised care for up to 52 people with general nursing needs, including those with dementia and its related conditions.  We cannot wait to welcome our first residents to Greenan Manor later this year.

We will be shortly starting our recruitment drive for the new Scottish care home and we’re looking forward to meeting new staff including nurses, care assistants, hotel services staff, administrators and managers. Across all roles we will be looking to employ a team whose expertise is evident in the excellent standard of care they will provide. Updates on our new roles will be posted to our Indeed recruitment page.

What makes Meallmore a special place to work?

I was drawn to Meallmore 15 years ago because of the company’s great reputation for providing exceptional care. Whilst working with Meallmore I’ve found it to be a company which not only sticks to its values but allows its values to drive decision making.  Meallmore invests in experienced staff and training, and this ensures we continue to provide the highest quality care for our residents.

I feel lucky to have developed my career with such a caring and supportive company, and I look forward to supporting the operations team in their efforts to further develop the quality of the care that they offer in this exciting new role.
