Meallmore

Since 1987

A legacy of care, rooted in Scotland.

Meallmore is Scotland's largest family-owned care home provider. Almost four decades on from our first home near Inverness, we still put families first.

Where it started

A FAMILY BUSINESS, BUILDING A NATIONAL REPUTATION

Meallmore Ltd is a family-owned business that opened its first nursing home in 1987 at Meallmore Lodge in Daviot, just south of Inverness. From that single Highland home the Hennessey family has steadily grown a portfolio of thirty care homes, supported by more than two thousand colleagues across Scotland.

Our founders recognised that older people deserved far more than the traditional care model offered. They believed in dignity, independence and quality of life alongside expert clinical support. Almost forty years later, that same belief still shapes every home we operate.

In 2023 the second generation took the reins, with Cillian Hennessey stepping up as Managing Director. Our head office remains in Inverness, our decisions are still made in Scotland, and our commitment is unchanged: to be a great place to live and a great place to work.
