New Manager Appointed at Greenan Manor Care Home

We’re delighted to announce the appointment of Joe Janikowski as the new Care Home Manager at Greenan Manor Care Home in Ayr. With over two decades of experience in health and social care, Joe brings a wealth of knowledge, compassion and leadership to our team - and has already made a brilliant start.

Originally from East Ayrshire, Joe has dedicated the past 26 years to supporting others, beginning his career as a support worker at Hansel Alliance. Working with adults and young people with learning disabilities, he quickly discovered his passion for care and progressed through the ranks to assistant manager for supported living. His transition into elderly care came in 2013 and he has since spent the last 12 years leading care teams with a strong focus on quality, compliance and team development.

Bringing Proven Leadership to Doonfoot

Before joining Meallmore, Joe held a senior role at HC-One as Turnaround Manager for Scotland and Wales. In this post, he supported care homes in high-risk areas, mentoring new managers and forging strong partnerships with Local Authorities to improve care standards and leadership continuity.

He also brings valuable local experience, having managed Glenfairn House in Ayr for two years. Joe is known for his hands-on approach, clear communication and commitment to delivering safe, effective, and enriching care.

Now at the helm of Greenan Manor, Joe is excited about the opportunity to continue Meallmore’s tradition of providing great places to live and work.

Speaking about his appointment, Joe shared:

“I’m really excited to be joining Greenan Manor and the Meallmore Group. I’ve had a great start, with the residents, families and team making me very welcome. It’s a super home in a stunning location, with a fantastic group of people.

“We’re working on a new array of engaging and enriching activities to further enhance the existing programme and I’m very much looking forward to seeing this progress over the coming months.”

Greenan Manor, which opened its doors in January 2021, is a modern, purpose-built 52-bed care home located on Tiree Avenue in Doonfoot, with beautiful views across Ayr Bay.

The home provides care and support for residents with a wide range of nursing and support needs, including palliative care and specialist care for individuals living with dementia.
