Manor Care Home Celebrates Strong Inspection Results with Top Marks

There’s plenty to celebrate at Manor Care Centre following a recent Care Inspectorate visit. The home has proudly achieved Grade 5 ratings for both KQ 1.3 (Quality of Care and Support) and KQ 4.1 (Quality of Environment). These results reflect a journey of growth, commitment, and a shared pride in creating a home where residents thrive.

From Progress to Achievement

In past inspections, Manor received areas for improvement around oral health oversight and ensuring reviews better captured people’s views. Both of these have now been fully met. The recent visit highlighted how feedback is not only listened to but translated into real, positive outcomes for residents.

Inspectors commented on how relaxed and confident colleagues were during the visit, clearly proud to be part of the Manor team. Colleagues spoke positively about their experience, their sense of purpose, and the strong support they receive in their roles. It was clear that this is a home where both residents and colleagues feel valued.

Care and Support That Makes a Difference

Inspectors observed mealtimes and found them to be calm, well-planned, and supportive. Residents had choice and flexibility, with the short order menu proving a popular option. Feedback about the meals was positive, highlighting both the quality of food and the social side of dining together.

Activities were another strength, with relatives praising the engaging programme on offer. From group sessions to one-to-one activities, residents were supported to live in a way that felt meaningful and connected. Documentation was consistently correct and up to date, showing the team’s commitment to safe and effective care. Medication protocols were thorough, with outcomes clearly recorded, and staff numbers were well matched to residents’ needs.

Overall, inspectors found significant strengths in how Manor delivers care and support, with a clear focus on outcomes that make a real difference to daily life.

A Home Filled with Warmth

KQ 4.1 highlighted the environment of Manor Care Home as another standout feature. Inspectors described the atmosphere as welcoming and warm, noting that it felt like “home” rather than “a home.”

Bedrooms were well presented and personalised, while access to outdoor spaces was a real positive. Residents could enjoy fresh air easily thanks to well-placed doors, and the garden and sensory areas were well used to enrich daily experiences. Indoors, spaces such as the café and cinema added to the variety and enjoyment of life at Manor.

The home was found to be exceptionally clean and well maintained. Laundry and linen areas were organised, fixtures and fittings were of a high quality, and health and safety checks were all in place. Inspectors also praised the housekeeping team for the way they engaged with residents, offering meaningful conversation while going about their work — another example of the small touches that make Manor feel truly homely.

Growing Together as a Team

Inspectors spoke to 10 relatives, 13 colleagues, and two visiting professionals, all of whom gave positive feedback. Relatives valued the management team’s proactive approach, while colleagues highlighted opportunities for upskilling, coaching, and personal development. This culture of learning and growth was seen as a key strength of the home.

The Care Inspectorate described Manor as a service with significant strengths, providing consistently positive outcomes for residents. With both grades raised from 4 to 5, this inspection result recognises not just excellent care, but a continuous journey of improvement.

A Result to Be Proud Of

For Manor, these results are a proud moment. They are a reflection of teamwork, dedication, and a shared belief in making every day the best it can be for residents. By building on feedback, focusing on outcomes, and staying true to the values of kindness, accountability, recognition, and engagement, Manor has shown what can be achieved when people come together with purpose.

The result is more than just a Grade 5. It’s a home filled with laughter, warmth, and opportunity — a place where residents live life fully, supported by colleagues who are proud of the difference they make every day.
