Mearns House Care Home is located in Newton Mearns, East Renfrewshire, just south of Glasgow. The purpose-built 68-bed home provides nursing care, dementia care, residential care and short-stay respite care within a warm, comfortable and carefully designed environment.

Our experienced colleagues take time to understand each resident as an individual. This includes their health and care needs, preferred routines, interests, relationships, communication preferences, personal history and the things that help them feel comfortable. Personalised care plans allow support to be shaped around the person and reviewed as their needs or circumstances change.

Residents have access to private en-suite bedrooms and selected executive kitchenette suites, alongside six lounge and dining rooms, two café areas, a private cinema, bar, hair and beauty salon and private dining room.

Outside, landscaped spaces include a terrace, balcony, putting green, bowls lawn, summerhouse, greenhouse and children''s play area. These varied environments provide residents with opportunities to socialise, enjoy activities, spend time with visitors or relax more quietly.

Mearns House welcomes residents from Newton Mearns and surrounding communities including Giffnock, Clarkston, Whitecraigs, East Kilbride and south Glasgow.

Mearns House offers private en-suite bedrooms where residents can enjoy comfort, privacy and personal space. Rooms include smart televisions and Wi-Fi, while tea and coffee services and laundry and domestic support contribute to everyday comfort.

Selected executive suites also include kitchenette facilities. These rooms may provide additional space and independence for residents whose preferences and care needs make this style of accommodation suitable. Some garden patio rooms are also available. Patio access and kitchenette facilities are not standard across all 68 bedrooms.

Residents are encouraged to personalise their room with suitable photographs, decorations and familiar belongings, subject to available space and normal safety requirements. Individual room requirements, features and availability should always be discussed directly with the home.

Residents who prefer quieter time can also enjoy their own room or a less busy communal space. The private cinema provides a dedicated setting where residents can enjoy films, entertainment and shared experiences. The hair and beauty salon allows residents to maintain familiar personal-care routines within the home.
