Keeping our residents stimulated
We believe an active mind and body is the key to a happy, healthy life. We pride ourselves on our positive care approach which promotes independence, dignity and wellbeing and ensures care plans are suited to individual needs.
Our dedicated Activities Co-ordinators design events and excursions tailored to individual and group needs and ensure there is always something on offer to meet all manner of likes and tastes.
Maintaining an active social life and continuing to enjoy hobbies is important. Many of our homes feature hair and beauty salons for a spot of relaxation and outdoor terraces where residents can socialise and enjoy afternoon tea in beautiful surroundings.
Whether visiting famous landmarks, taking trips to museums or science centres, picnics on the beach or entertainment within the home, there is truly something on offer for everyone at our care homes.
All our activities are coordinated with our residents’ experience in mind and have a number of social and therapeutic benefits. Animal therapy, in particular, is a popular activity as physical contact with animals encourages communication, can reduce stress and anxiety and improve motor skills and self-esteem. We frequently have visits from ponies, alpacas, dogs and even creepy crawlies.
We are also certified to carry out ‘Oomph!’ classes: a high-quality, upbeat, exercise class that enhances mental, physical and emotional wellbeing.
