New care home in Ayr opens doors to residents

Ayr’s newest care home has officially opened its doors.

The much-anticipated Greenan Manor, located in Doonfoot, provides the highest quality, personalised care for elderly people with general care needs including those with dementia and its related conditions.

The state-of-the-art Ayr care home opened on 5 January and is the latest home to open in Scotland for leading care provider Meallmore Ltd. It has been expertly designed and features 52 fully furnished ensuite bedrooms.

The home boasts several stylish communal lounges and dining rooms, as well as a cinema and multipurpose entertainment space and a hairdressing and beauty salon. It is set in a stunning location on the coast with spectacular views across Ayr Bay to the Isle of Arran.

Greenan Manor is led by care home manager and experienced nurse, Amanda Harland, who is well established in the care industry with over 30 years’ experience.

Amanda said: “We are very excited to open our doors at Greenan Manor and welcome our first residents into their beautiful new home. The care home has been specially designed to provide bright, airy spaces for residents and offers exceptional standards of service, comfort and care and it really is stunning.

“Meallmore has a commitment to quality and delivering the best care and hospitality to residents. As we continue to navigate through the pandemic, it is hugely important to us that our residents will feel independent and live as active and fulfilling lives as possible, and so we have a dedicated, highly-experienced team in place to ensure this.”
