Meallmore at the Scottish Care Home Awards 2020

On Friday 14^th May, Scottish Care hosted their annual Care Home Awards ceremony online. These awards celebrate and recognise the outstanding achievements and unwavering dedication of individuals, teams and companies in the care home sector across Scotland.

With a total of 13 award categories, we were delighted that individuals and teams from Meallmore were nominated finalists for 5 awards.

Many of our teams watched on with excitement, as they waited for the winners to be announced during the virtual ceremony. We are so proud of our people at Meallmore, and we are pleased to announce that 4 of our finalists took home the gold.

Nutrition and Eating Well Award – Meallmore Hospitality Group (Winner)

Specialist Service/Unit of the Year Award – Hilton Court Care Home (Winner)

Nurse of the Year Award – Kamila, Culduthel Care Home (Winner)

Palliative and End of Life Care Award – Airthrey Care Home (Winner)

Emerging Talent Award – Jennifer, Belleaire House Care Home (Finalist)

Our finalists provided first-class support and care to our residents throughout such a difficult year, and they deserve to be recognised for their compassion and outstanding support in our care homes.

Operations Director, Mary Preston, had this to say: “The quality of this year’s entries was incredible, and our people deserved to be placed in such high regard for their respective awards.

We were delighted to see our people recognised for their achievements, as we have seen first-hand their level of commitment to ensuring our residents remained as safe as possible during this pandemic and were compassionately cared for.

We are so proud of all involved and I would like to congratulate our finalists on their fantastic achievements, well done.”
