If you can't find what you're looking for, our team is always on hand.
Enter your town or postcode in the search above and the finder lists the nearest Meallmore homes in order of distance, with the types of care each one provides.
Meallmore has 30 care homes across Scotland, from the Highlands and Moray down through Aberdeen, Tayside, Fife and the Central Belt to Glasgow, Ayrshire and Edinburgh, so most families have a home within a reasonable drive.
If nothing looks close enough, call our team and we will talk through the nearest options and current availability.
Our homes are grouped by region: the Highlands and Islands, Moray and Aberdeenshire, Aberdeen City, Tayside, Fife, Stirling and Forth Valley, Edinburgh and the Lothians, Glasgow and the West, and Ayrshire.
You can browse by region below, or open the map view to see every home plotted with its town and postcode.
Use the care-type filter to show only homes registered for nursing care, dementia care, residential care, respite and short stays or specialist adult care.
Combine that filter with your postcode and the results show only nearby homes that can actually meet the level of care needed, rather than every home in the area.
Most of our homes hold rooms for respite and short stays, from a few days to several weeks, for carer breaks, recovery after a hospital stay or a trial before a permanent move.
Availability changes week to week, so filter by respite and short-stay care to see the homes registered for it, then call the home directly to check current rooms.
Begin with the care and support the person needs, then consider location, atmosphere and everyday life within the home.
When you visit, notice how colleagues speak with residents, whether people appear comfortable and engaged, and how the home feels. Ask about care planning, meals, activities, visiting, outdoor spaces and how the team would support the person's individual routines and preferences.
Inspection reports and independent reviews are helpful, but visiting a home and meeting the people who work there can tell you much more.
Residential care supports people who may need help with everyday life but do not require continuous nursing support.
Nursing care provides 24-hour support from registered nurses for people with more complex health needs. Dementia care is shaped around the individual needs and experiences of people living with dementia.
Some Meallmore homes also provide respite, palliative and specialist adult care. Not every home offers every service, so our team can help you identify the most appropriate options.
Care homes in Scotland are registered with and inspected by the Care Inspectorate.
Inspections consider the quality of care and support, leadership, the environment and the experiences of people living in the home. We provide a link to the relevant Care Inspectorate information from each Meallmore care-home page.
Yes. We always encourage families to visit the homes they are considering.
A visit gives you the opportunity to meet the manager and wider team, explore the surroundings, ask questions and understand what everyday life is like within the home.
You can contact a home directly or ask our team to arrange a visit for you.
Care-home fees vary depending on the home, the accommodation and the type and level of care required.
Some people pay for their own care, while others may receive support from their local authority or qualify for Free Personal or Nursing Care payments.
Our team can explain the fees for a particular home and help you understand the main funding routes available in Scotland.
This depends on the person's care needs, the assessment process and whether a suitable room is available.
Where care is needed quickly, contact us as soon as possible. Our team will listen to your circumstances, speak with the relevant homes and explain the next steps clearly.
Care should continue to reflect the person as their circumstances change.
Individual care plans are regularly reviewed with the resident, their family and relevant healthcare professionals. Where additional support is needed, the team will discuss the available options and any changes to the person's care.
